During a vaginoplasty, a section of the vaginal lining is removed, and underlying muscles of the vaginal walls are tightened. Many patients have the procedure performed in-office under local anesthesia. This reduces cost, downtime, and risks associated with general anesthesia.
How much downtime is needed after vaginal rejuvenation?
Most patients are able to return to work within a week of their vaginal rejuvenation procedure. However, physical and sexual activity need to be avoided for about 4-6 weeks to ensure optimal results.
