Healthy Skin Tip of the Week

April 13, 2012

In my line of work, people have so many things they would like to improve about their skin. Whether it is to reduce pore size or to get rid of dark spots, everyone just wants to have beautiful skin. The best way to get to your goal of beautiful skin is to make sure your skin is healthy! This can be achieved through the use of topical agents, treatments that help the cells in your skin to function more efficiently, and to improve circulation. This enables the skin to constantly renew itself and to repair damage from daily stressors and toxins we accumulate in our bodies. Here are some key things you can do to get on the right track:

  1. Hydrate your skin by using a moisturizer every day that is most compatible with your skin type. One of the products we use for normal to dry skin is is Clinical’s Youth Complex. Or if your skin is on the oilier side, try some of these products: iS Clinical’s Hydra Cool Serum or Obagi’s Clenziderm.
  2. Be sure to protect the ever-so-delicate skin around your eyes with quality eye cream. At Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery, we are big fans of iS Clinical’s Youth Eye and Eye Complex
  3. Be sure to use at least SPF 30 daily. The sun laughs at anything less.
  4. Eat well and make sure to drink lots, lots, lots of water! Believe it or not, your diet is a big part of your skin health. Remember your skin is your body’s largest organ system!

Working out is not only a great way to stay in shape, but to improve circulation and to release toxins. After working out, be sure to cleanse and not to just wipe off the sweat from your face. Sweat is conducive to bacteria growth that can potentially clog pores and lead to breakouts. If you have any questions about ways to improve your skin care regime so you can be on your way to healthy beautiful glow, I am just a phone call or an email away! Be sure look out for my next skin care tip. Have a great weekend!

Best wishes,

Pamela Lee
