What is a LiteLift®?

LiteLift® is a modified facelift that is 40% less invasive than a traditional facelift, resulting in a shorter recovery time and minimal scarring. Our board-certified plastic surgeons at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery consider LiteLift® to be the “gold standard” in mini facelift techniques.

Dr. Nichter and Dr. Horowitz pioneered the LiteLift® and have more than 20 years of experience using their innovative technique to deliver the best results with the least discomfort and downtime.

The minimally-invasive LiteLift® procedure smoothes, tightens, and repositions areas of the face by lifting layers of underlying supporting tissues. These tissues cover and surround the deeper structures of the face and neck and include the fat pads and muscles that provide the “foundation” for your face. This mini facelift often produces more natural-looking results that often last longer than traditional facelifts.

Learn More About LiteLift®

Our surgeons perform mini facelifts with general or local anesthesia, depending on your procedure and preferences. Facelift surgery usually takes two to four hours. However, it may take longer if you decide to combine it with other procedures.

Most of our patients choose to have their LiteLift® performed at our Newport Beach office with oral sedation and local anesthetic. However, we’re happy to offer other anesthesia options, such as IV sedation (Twilight) or general anesthesia, if you prefer. Our primary goal is to ensure your comfort and safety. 

Your board-certified surgeon will make small, well-concealed incisions in the temple hairline and in a natural crease behind your ears or in front of the ear. Next, your surgeon will remove sagging, excess skin and tighten your facial tissues to smooth out wrinkles. Finally, they will vertically lift the strong layers under the skin that support the jowl, cheek, and neck with long-lasting sutures to define and naturally rejuvenate the jawline and neckline. 

The LiteLift® process takes about two hours to complete. If you combine your LiteLift® with other procedures, your facial plastic surgery can take between two to four hours. After your procedure, our team will closely monitor you as the sedation wears off before they clear you to go home. A friend or family member will need to drive you home after your LiteLift®.

For even more benefits, you can combine LiteLift® with other surgical procedures like an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), brow lift, neck lift, or facial liposuction. You can also pair LiteLift® with non-surgical treatments at Pacific Center’s premier MedSpa, the BioSpa. 

Recovery from a LiteLift® varies from patient to patient, but thanks to innovative techniques, healing time after a LiteLift® is relatively quick. Generally, the estimated downtime is between five to seven days. You’ll likely be ready to go out and resume regular activities within two weeks.

As you recover, you may experience swelling and bruising. Most LiteLift® patients experience only mild to moderate discomfort in the week following their procedure. Keeping your head elevated for the first few days can shorten the recovery and reduce swelling. Usually, your recovery will last a couple of days longer if you combine a LiteLift® with other cosmetic procedures.

Your surgeon and our staff at Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery will monitor your recovery to ensure it is going well. They will provide you with post-op instructions that you should closely follow to make sure you properly heal. You’ll want to take it easy at home, avoid wearing makeup, and avoid strenuous exercise. When you resume normal activities, be sure to protect your facial rejuvenation investment by wearing sunscreen.

After your LiteLift®, you can expect a younger-looking, natural appearance. You should feel comfortable returning to your usual activities and social events about two weeks following your procedure. Your results will continue to improve as swelling fades and the incisions fully heal. You can expect to see your full results in just a few short months. 

LiteLift® results are generally long-lasting and may last indefinitely. The procedure won’t prevent further aging, which affects everyone differently based on genetics, lifestyle, and skin elasticity. How long your LiteLift® results last will depend on your unique aging process, but you will likely still look younger decades later compared to if you had never undergone a LiteLift® procedure.

The best LiteLift® candidates are healthy men and women who notice early signs of aging in their facial skin, neck, and jowls. If you want to reduce and improve the appearance of wrinkles, sagging jowls, and folds between your nose and mouth, a LiteLift® may be a good procedure for you.

This modified facelift is ideal for patients in their late 30s to 60s who have good skin elasticity. LiteLift® can also work for older patients as long as they are in good health and don’t have medical problems. Our board-certified surgeons have produced impressive results with the LiteLift® for patients in their 80s. 

Patients with very loose or sun-damaged skin, severe neck laxity, heavy nasolabial folds, or droopy lower lids and mid-face may be better candidates for a standard LiteLift® face lift. During your consultation, our world-renowned surgeons will examine your facial skin to help you select the best treatment.

The cost of any procedure will vary depending on your geographic location and your provider’s experience. A LiteLift® at Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery typically costs $9,600 to $14,400. However, this estimate does not include all associated expenses, such as general anesthesia and facility fees.
